CANTON, Mich. – Today Yazaki honored four of its suppliers with Green Supplier of the Year Awards. These four suppliers were chosen as leaders in their respective industry, Bulk and Raw Materials, Connections, Electronics, and Routing, based on their commitment to the environment. All of Yazaki 98 top suppliers in North and Central America were audited and graded on their commitment and improvement in energy consumption reduction, community service, the promotion of environmental awareness, and in the reduction in air, soil, and water pollution.
Yazaki recognizes that the preservation of the global environment and its resources is a serious concern shared by all mankind. Also in attendance and presenting the awards from Yazaki North & Central America were Nigel Thompson, President and CEO as well as Robert McDonald, Executive Vice President of Supply Chain Management.
In attendance were those accepting awards on behalf of their respective industry, which were Champlain Cable for Bulk and Raw Materials, TE Connectivity for Connections, Renesas for Electronics and TRW for Routing. In addition TE Connectivity was also awarded the overall Green Supplier of the Year award for their outstanding accomplishments.

Held on June 5, 2014, to honor World Environmental Day, the Yazaki Green Supplier of the Year program recognizes suppliers who have made significant contributions to the preservation of the environment through their manufacturing, production, and delivery processes and have exceeded others in their effort to reduce their impact on the environment.
