CANTON, Mich., June 30, 2026 — Yazaki North America, Inc. has joined the Sustainable Mobility Center (SMC) at Stanford University as a founding industry supporter, strengthening its commitment to sustainable, technology-enabled mobility.
The center, part of the Precourt Institute for Energy within the Stanford Doerr School of Sustainability, is a cross-campus initiative focused on rethinking how people and goods move across land, sea, and air. The center connects leaders from industry, academia, and government to advance more efficient, accessible, and sustainable mobility systems.
Yazaki joins International Motors, Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Prologis, Shell, and TOGG as a founding member of the center.

During the symposium, McCorry joined discussions on artificial intelligence, robotics, and automation, focusing on the technologies and long-term challenges shaping the next generation of manufacturing and mobility systems.
As part of the collaboration, Onda plans to join Stanford as a visiting scholar, further connecting Yazaki with the university’s research ecosystem.
Through this Stanford-based collaboration, Yazaki aims to support innovation, talent development, and cross-industry engagement while contributing to solutions that advance society.
