Canton, Mich., June 1, 2017 – Yazaki completes expansion of its Circuit Controls Corporation manufacturing operations in Petoskey, Michigan adding production and warehouse space, manufacturing equipment, and jobs to the facility.
The two year expansion increased the facility’s manufacturing footprint by 22,000 square feet, adding to both production space and safety work zones. Some manufacturing operations were moved to the addition and the existing south end of the building has been renovated into a larger warehouse.
“We had significantly outgrown our facility and we also needed to expand to handle future business,” said Tom Mason, Vice President and General Manager, Circuit Controls Corporation (CCC). “The first goal was to right-size our operations and set the facility up for success. The second goal was to accommodate for future growth.”
In addition to adding to manufacturing floor space, the workforce increased by 22 percent, allowing CCC to keep up and exceed its average production of 40 million terminals per day. In 2016 CCC produced and shipped 9.8 billion terminals. In January 2017—before completion of the expansion—CCC produced 943 million terminals, outpacing the previous monthly average of 817 million and setting a facility record.
“Since 2009 our business has grown by more than 50 percent,” said Mason. “This expansion allows us to be better situated to take on more business as well as have space for future endeavors.”
