Yazaki Showcases Supplier Commitment to Sustainability During 2016 Green Supplier of the Year Awards Ceremony

CANTON, Mich. – In honor of World Environment Day, Yazaki North America honored four of its suppliers at the 2016 Green Supplier of the Year Awards ceremony at the North American headquarters. These four suppliers were chosen as leaders in their respective industry, Bulk and Raw Materials, Electronics, and Routing, based on an audit conducted over the last several months. All of Yazaki 84 top suppliers in North and Central America were audited and graded on their commitment and improvement in energy consumption reduction, community service, the promotion of environmental awareness, and in the reduction in air, soil, and water pollution.

“Yazaki is dedicated to not only producing quality products for our customers but also sourcing from environmentally-conscious suppliers,” said Ken Pichla, Vice President of Strategic Purchasing, Yazaki North & Central America. “The Green Supper of the Year program is a testament of our commitment to the environment and the sustainable business model we value.”

Honored for their outstanding commitment to the environment and sustainable business practices are the 2016 Green Supplier of the Year award recipients:

  • Federal-Mogul for Bulk Material Commodity
  • DuPont for Raw Material Commodity
  • Rohm for Electronics Commodity
  • PTI Engineered Plastics for Routing Commodity

In addition DuPont was also awarded the overall Green Supplier of the Year award, Best in Class, for their outstanding accomplishments across the board.

Held in correlation with World Environmental Day, the Yazaki Green Supplier of the Year program recognizes suppliers who have made significant contributions to the preservation of the environment through their manufacturing, production, and delivery processes and have exceeded others in their effort to reduce their impact on the environment. Yazaki established this program in 2007 as the benchmark for all Yazaki companies and affiliates throughout North and Central America.
