Yazaki Senior Designer, Dan Welker, Wins Coveted Additive Manufacturing Award

Yazaki North America’s Rapid Prototype Senior Designer, Dan Welker, joined a prestigious group at the annual awards banquet for the Additive Manufacturing Users Group (AMUG) in St. Louis on April 21. Welker was one of ten recipients of the Distinguished INnovatior Operator (DINO) award, the highest honor given in the Additive Manufacturing industry.

This award recognizes industry innovators who have demonstrated their mastery and their contributions to the Additive Manufacturing Industry. In the 28 year history of AMUG, only 131 DINOs have been awarded.
“The Core Engineering and Rapid Prototype teams here at Yazaki couldn’t be more proud of Dan,” said Ryan Flavin, Rapid Prototype Supervisor. “He is knowledgeable, innovative and a vital asset to our team.”
As a Senior Design in the Rapid Prototype group, which is heavily invested into prototyping parts and products through the latest in Additive Manufacturing technologies, Dan has become the “go-to” resource in all areas of Rapid Prototype especially his primary responsibility for the support and operation of Yazaki’s machines. Dan has been with Yazaki for 19 years. Previously he worked in the Additive Manufacturing field with Ford Motor Company and Masco. With his vast knowledge and experience in the industry, Dan also enjoys teaching and sharing his expertise with new team members, student tours, and other inquiring minds.
