CANTON, Mich. June 6, 2017 – In honor of World Environment Day, Yazaki North America, Inc. honored three of its suppliers at the 2017 Environmental, Health & Safety Supplier Awards ceremony at the North American headquarters. These three suppliers were chosen as leaders based on an audit conducted over the last several months.
All of Yazaki’s 97 top suppliers in North and Central America were audited and graded on their commitment and improvement in energy consumption reduction, community service, promotion of environmental awareness, dedication to healthy and safe work conditions, and in their efforts to reduce air, soil, and water pollution.
“We pride ourselves at Yazaki as being a responsible community partner,” said Ken Pichla, Head of Purchasing at Yazaki. “A part of that comes from sourcing business to environmentally-conscious suppliers. The Environmental, Health & Safety Supplier award program is a testament to our commitment to the sustainable business model we value.”
Honored for their outstanding commitment to their environmental, health, and safety conscious business practices are the 2017 award recipients:
In addition Osram Opto Semiconductors GMBH was also awarded the overall Environmental, Health & Safety Supplier Award, Best in Class, for their outstanding accomplishments across the board.
